Natural sweetener
Small wild shrub, stevia comes from northern South America. Its leaves has been used during centuries by the Guarani Indians as sweetener and medicinal plant as Ka'a He'e ("sweet herb"). The stevia sweetness is attributed to two components naturally present in the leaves : stevioside and rebaudiosaide A which sweetness is 300 times swweter than sugar. Stevia contains no calorie because it is not assimilated by the body. Stevia is a natural alternative to sugar and artificial sweeteners. It is ideal to sweeten your drinks hot or cold, your dairies, your pastries... Stevia is also suitable for cooking.
